Most sketchbooks adapt a practice of the first page serving as a frontispiece that illustrates the name of the sketchbook, its number and an illustration that is very loosely related to the title. The second page of the sketchbooks is always blank. Drawings on pages are often in sequence, but not always. Frequently, available space in earlier pages is back filled with later sketches or the sketches are reworked.
